Afternoon Depot Shift Supervisor (Logistics)

Location: Auckland, New Zealand; onsite, Monday to Friday, 3:30pm to midnight

What you will do

• Lead the afternoon shift team of two drivers and one planner/dispatcher.
• Allocate daily work according to operational priorities, customer requirements, and available resources.
• Conduct shift briefings and coordinate depot, transport, dispatch, and container control activities.
• Monitor attendance, performance, safety, and compliance, providing feedback and coaching.
• Resolve day-to-day operational issues, escalate formal performance matters, and complete shift handovers.
• Provide driver coverage during leave, vacancies, unexpected absences, or periods of increased operational demand.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in transport, logistics, container, depot, warehousing, or related operations.
• Experience working with drivers, transport providers, and customers.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
• Must have the right to live and work in New Zealand when applying.
• Police Check and/or pre-employment drug test may be required.

Nice to have

• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Container depot, transport, shipping, or logistics experience.
• Experience with VBS, Container Chain, transport management systems, or similar tools.
• Forklift/OSH licence, F endorsement, MPI Transitional Facility Officer qualification, and First Aid certification.
• Relevant logistics, transport, warehousing, or operations qualification.
