Senior Software Engineer (C++)

Location: Hybrid in Wedel, Germany — 3 days in the office and 2 days remote; full on-site presence during the probationary period.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain software for sensor-based sorting solutions across the full product lifecycle, from concept and implementation through deployment and long-term maintenance.
• Contribute to image and data processing, machine learning, user interfaces, system integration, and software architecture.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary and international experts in minerals processing, sensor technology, physics, optics, electronics, and mechanical engineering.
• Evaluate and apply technologies and methodologies to improve sorter performance, reliability, and usability.
• Support commissioning, testing, and optimization at customer sites, including occasional international travel.
• Share technical knowledge and improve software development practices, tools, and processes.

Requirements

• Strong professional software development experience with modern C++.
• Experience with software architecture, design patterns, and modern software engineering practices.
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Willingness to travel internationally occasionally for testing, commissioning, and optimization activities.

Nice to have

• Experience with image processing, computer vision, machine learning, embedded or real-time systems, user interfaces, or web applications.
• Knowledge of continuous integration, automated testing, DevOps, or agile development.
• Basic knowledge of electronics, optics, mechanics, or related engineering disciplines.
• German language skills.
