Salary: $49,996.80–$290,004.00 per year

What you will do

• Process voice and graphic Chinese/Mandarin language materials in support of SIGINT operations.
• Translate, transcribe, and gist foreign-language materials into clear, idiomatic English.
• Identify and extract essential elements of information for mission reporting.
• Prepare accurate and timely language analysis and reporting.
• Use standard tools and databases to support analysis and reporting.
• At more senior levels, perform quality control, mentoring, and advanced analysis of complex language data.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph are required at all OLA levels.
• High school diploma or GED for Level 1; associate’s or bachelor’s degree requirements apply at higher levels, with relevant experience accepted in lieu as specified.
• ILR Level 2 or Level 3 audio and/or text translation proficiency, depending on level; Level 4 requires Level 3 in both audio and text translation.
• Relevant cryptologic language processing experience ranging from 2 to 15 years, depending on level.
• Experience with translation, transcription, gisting, language-specific analysis, and—at senior levels—quality control.
• At least one year of typing on an English keyboard; applicable recency requirements vary by level.
