TL;DR
Computational Physics & Signal Processing Consultant (Computational Physics/Signal Processing): Developing computational models, simulations, algorithms, and analytical tools for complex systems across defence, energy, manufacturing, transport, healthcare, and infrastructure with an accent on applied mathematics, sensing, statistical analysis, and model validation. Focus on analysing experimental and operational datasets, evaluating algorithms, and presenting technical findings in multidisciplinary consulting projects.

What you will do

  • Develop computational models, simulations, analytical tools, and model-based approaches.
  • Analyse experimental, simulated, and operational datasets using mathematical and statistical techniques.
  • Support algorithms for sensing, optimisation, prediction, decision support, and signal processing.
  • Conduct experimental analysis, model validation, and technical research.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables, and present findings clearly.
  • Collaborate with physicists, mathematicians, engineers, data scientists, and domain specialists across varied sectors.

Requirements

  • Degree, MSc, or PhD in physics, applied mathematics, engineering physics, electronic engineering, mathematics, quantitative computer science, quantum technologies, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in several areas including computational physics, applied mathematics, signal processing, numerical modelling, simulation, statistical analysis, optimisation, scientific computing, data analysis, sensor fusion, machine learning for physical systems, or quantum technologies.
  • Strong mathematical foundations and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with data, models, and simulations and communicate technical ideas clearly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt across sectors and technical domains.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, C++, Julia, or similar technical computing environments.
  • Recently completed PhD or a small number of years of industrial experience.
