Powder Coat Operator (1:00pm to 9:30pm)

Location: United States employment context; shift is 1:00pm to 9:30pm

G&W Electric develops engineered electrical power grid solutions and manufactures products for the power industry.

What you will do

• Load and unload components onto fixtures and prepare parts for powder coating.
• Clean parts using electrochemical cleaning processes and perform hand abrasive blasting when required.
• Operate powder coating guns, hoppers, booth systems, and related equipment.
• Monitor gauges, inspect coating quality, identify defects, and cure parts at the required temperatures and times.
• Clean and maintain equipment, complete production and quality documentation, and keep the work area safe and orderly.
• Coordinate with colleagues and train others on powder coating operations as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of experience and skill development.
• Ability to safely use small hand and power tools and read drawings and Bills of Material.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to meet medium-to-heavy physical demands, including frequent lifting, bending, squatting, walking, and standing.
• Must remain medically cleared to wear respirator equipment.

Nice to have

• 1–2 years of manufacturing experience.
• 1–2 years of experience as a painter or powder coat operator.
