Security Engineer — Detection & Agentic AI

Location: Zapopan, Mexico; full-time onsite role

What you will do

• Define detection standards, naming conventions, quality criteria, MITRE ATT&CK coverage, and operational KPIs such as MTTD and false-positive rates.
• Build and deploy production detections-as-code, automated triage, and agentic security response workflows.
• Work directly with SOC, incident response, platform, engineering, and managed-services teams while coaching analysts and engineers.
• Design the lifecycle, delegation, audit logging, kill switches, guardrails, and human oversight for non-human security-agent identities.
• Architect security data collectors, forwarders, log pipelines, SIEM strategy, and portable detection content.
• Validate detections through purple-team and adversary-emulation exercises and expand supervised automations for the managed-services partner.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, cybersecurity, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced English proficiency is mandatory.
• 4–6+ years of relevant hands-on experience in security engineering, detection engineering, software development, or related work.
• Software development experience, preferably with Python, API integration, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD.
• Experience with security operations, SIEM/SOAR platforms, incident response, detection lifecycle ownership, and MITRE ATT&CK coverage analysis.
• Hands-on production experience with AI agents, agent frameworks, RAG pipelines, or agentic orchestration, plus knowledge of MITRE ATLAS, NIST AI RMF, and OWASP AI security guidance.

• Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Security Copilot, Logic Apps, KQL, and Azure.
• Splunk, SPL, log forwarding, content management, and index administration.
• Model Context Protocol, Security Copilot plugins, or comparable security-agent orchestration frameworks.
• Entra Workload Identities, Okta, service principals, managed identities, and SIEM migration experience.
• Prior field-deployed, solutions-engineering, or detection-engineering experience in enterprise security environments.
