Software Developer III (RPMS/MUMPS)

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA; full-time on-site role

What you will do

• Develop and recommend technical solutions for moderately complex client software problems.
• Design and develop secure clinical applications within the IHS Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS).
• Apply IHS standards and conventions, including analytical and engineering-based problem solving.
• Design functional and regression test scenarios for complex software solutions.
• Investigate and resolve software support tickets submitted by end users.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary developers on system design, implementation, training, deployment, and application support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, software engineering, mathematics, business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• At least eight years of experience, including six years of specialized experience designing and developing healthcare information technology systems.
• Experience with requirements analysis, software design, implementation, and testing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Significant experience with FileMan/MUMPS programming and analysis and debugging of FileMan/M source code.
• Knowledge of VA and IHS environments, RPMS or legacy VistA, Agile processes, and the QA lifecycle.

Nice to have

• 15+ years of software development experience.
• Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server and/or Azure DevOps.
• Experience working on a remote or distributed development team.
