Credit Controller (Finance)

Location: Onsite at the Head Office in Longtown, Cumbria, United Kingdom

JDP provides civils drainage and water management products, delivery services, branch support, and technical assistance as part of a growing UK company owned by a global group.

What you will do

• Manage all credit control activities for a ledger worth approximately £2 million and covering 750–1000 customers.
• Prioritise collections and contact customers to meet monthly cash collection targets.
• Allocate incoming payments accurately and maintain customer account records.
• Resolve customer calls, invoice queries, and credit note requests, escalating issues when needed.
• Set and update credit limits, manage stop lists, and obtain higher limits through the credit insurance provider.
• Escalate potential bad debts, liaise with solicitors, and implement solutions to recurring issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience in credit control.
• Strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
• High accuracy, attention to detail, organisation, and ability to work independently.
• Confidence using Excel spreadsheets.
• Good understanding of customer operations and customer service best practices.
• Availability for a full-time fixed-term maternity cover contract until 18 December 2026.
