TL;DR
Senior Backend Developer (Node.js): Building backend services and APIs for a digital construction platform supporting fiber rollout in Germany with an accent on microservices, secure API design, PostgreSQL, and scalable web applications. Focus on optimizing performance, troubleshooting incidents, writing automated tests, and collaborating with DevOps on deployments and releases.
Location: Budapest, Debrecen, Pécs, or Szeged, Hungary. Remote work is available only within Hungary due to European taxation regulation.

What you will do
- Design and implement backend services and REST APIs for the Digital Construction platform.
- Develop new features in collaboration with the Product Owner and software architects.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
- Write unit and integration tests, review merge requests, and maintain coding standards.
- Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document technical solutions.
- Mentor junior and middle developers and collaborate with DevOps on deployments and releases.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend development, ideally with enterprise-grade web applications.
- Expert knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js, with deep understanding of REST APIs and microservice architecture.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL data modeling, SQL optimization, API design, and backend architecture.
- Experience with Git, GitLab, CI workflows, Jest, Docker, and secure software development principles.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Interaction Design, or a related field.
- Fluent English is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Knex.js or Sequelize, Python, Nginx, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or AWS fundamentals.
- Basic DevOps knowledge and experience with containerized development.
- Experience with geospatial technologies.
