Regional Agronomist

Location: Defiance, Ohio, USA; frequent travel within the Great Lakes Region, including overnight stays up to 50% of the time

What you will do

• Support the Crop Nutrition and Tiger-Sul sales teams in expanding market share and developing regional markets.
• Identify crop fertilization needs and recommend specialty fertilizer products and best management practices.
• Design and implement field testing and demonstration trials, evaluate research quality, and close agronomic knowledge gaps.
• Build relationships with university and private researchers to validate product performance and develop practical recommendations.
• Provide technical support, training, product education, and field-based troubleshooting for distributors, customers, and end-users.
• Research competitor products, monitor market trends, and support product evaluation, licensing, acquisitions, launches, and technical marketing.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in crop science, soil science, or agronomy preferred; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with 1–3 years of related experience.
• Certified Crop Advisor license, or willingness to obtain it within one year.
• Fluent English with the ability to read, write, and present technical information to individuals and large groups.
• Knowledge of specialty fertilizers, nitrogen stabilizers, the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Program, precision agriculture, and emerging fertilizer technologies.
• Experience conducting agronomic research independently, including statistical analysis and experimental design.
• Ability to work outdoors, travel frequently, drive long distances, handle equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and perform physical field inspection activities.
