Senior Consultant AI Data Engineering - Microsoft Azure (all genders)

Location: Romania; remote work with travel to client locations as required

What you will do

• Design and implement modern data platforms, data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, semantic data models, and data products.
• Connect data engineering and AI engineering through RAG architectures, Conversational BI, AI-powered data products, and LLM-based applications.
• Develop and integrate AI agents for pipeline development, data quality, automation, monitoring, and self-service analytics.
• Build scalable solutions using Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, and dbt.
• Design end-to-end data architectures covering integration, transformation, governance, quality assurance, AI, BI, and business applications.
• Advise clients on technology selection, target architectures, migration strategies, platform modernization, and AI integration while owning workstreams or projects.

Requirements

• Professional experience in data engineering, cloud data platforms, or Data & AI consulting.
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines, data models, lakehouse architectures, or cloud data warehouses.
• Strong SQL and Python or PySpark skills, including ETL/ELT, APIs, data quality, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Power BI, or Microsoft Power Platform.
• Strong architectural, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent German at minimum C1 level and English language skills required; willingness to travel to client locations.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM-based applications, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Agentic AI, Azure AI Foundry, MLOps, or LLMOps.
