Sr Vice President, Accounting (Financial Services)

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States; onsite at 11550 Ent Parkway

Salary: $275,000–$325,000 annually, plus a 35% annual target bonus and $400 per pay period car allowance.

What you will do

• Lead the enterprise accounting function, including month-end close, general ledger governance, reconciliations, accounts payable, fixed assets, and expense administration.
• Establish and enforce accounting policies, documentation standards, close governance, reconciliation practices, and internal control frameworks.
• Review complex accounting matters and financial statement support while maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant records.
• Lead external audit readiness, audit support, control evidence preparation, issue resolution, and tax compliance coordination.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, integrations, purchase accounting, complex transactions, and post-close control processes.
• Modernize accounting systems, workflows, automation, reconciliation tools, and reporting while building and developing the accounting leadership team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or a related field.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting, controllership, audit, or financial institution finance leadership experience.
• Significant experience overseeing month-end close, general ledger governance, accounting policy, reconciliations, internal controls, audit support, accounts payable, fixed assets, expenses, and tax compliance.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, regulatory requirements, and control frameworks in complex or regulated financial institutions.
• Certified Public Accountant certification required upon hire, although equivalent senior-level accounting, controllership, financial institution, or audit leadership experience may be considered.
• Ability to communicate accounting decisions and control expectations to executives, auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with a credit union, bank, regulated financial services company, or multi-entity environment.
• Certified Management Accountant or another accounting, finance, or management accounting credential.
