Technical Writer (On-site Scribe & AAR) (Dam Operator Safety Training)

Location: On-site in Denver, Colorado, and across the Western United States; U.S. citizenship required.

What you will do

• Develop and edit technical training manuals, presentations, instructor guides, student workbooks, checklists, and microlearning modules.
• Translate subject-matter expert knowledge into clear, practical materials for dam operator safety training.
• Ensure plain-language terminology, DOI policy alignment, and Section 508 accessibility compliance.
• Manage document control, version tracking, metadata, traceability, style guides, and annual updates.
• Create quick-reference job aids and glossaries of terms.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of technical documentation experience in engineering or training contexts.
• Experience with federal writing standards and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
• BA/BS in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, or a related field.
• Skills in information design, editing, graphics coordination, version control, metadata, and traceability.
• Active Secret clearance with eligibility for Interim TS/SCI or a full TS/SCI clearance is required and must be maintained.
• Must be a United States citizen; visa sponsorship is not available.
