Senior Manager, Data Engineering (Tableau)

Location: United States; KIPP Foundation offices are in NYC and Chicago, and the role may be performed from a remote office full-time.

Salary: $104,000–$123,500 per year.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery of data architecture, ETL pipelines, data models, semantic layers, testing strategies, and monitoring controls.
• Design and operationalize data quality frameworks with monitoring, alerting, root cause analysis, and impact assessments for critical pipelines.
• Manage and improve data architecture, pipelines, operational controls, and platform governance.
• Lead Tableau BI platform management, including updates, enhancements, maintenance, stakeholder communication, availability, performance, and security.
• Establish foundational AI-enabled analytics capabilities within the BI platform.
• Coordinate stakeholders, project plans, sprint planning, releases, dependencies, risks, and blockers while coaching and managing data engineering team members.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Spark, PySpark, SSIS, ETL and data pipelines.
• Experience with SQL Server and cloud data warehouse or lakehouse platforms such as Fabric/OneLake, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Experience managing Tableau infrastructure and operations in on-premises and cloud environments.
• Experience with Git-based version control, CI/CD workflows, agile sprint operations, and project management tools.
• Experience managing and mentoring data engineers; a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric/OneLake.
• Master’s degree in data engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
