Salary: $52,000–$61,200 per year; typical starting compensation is approximately $55,100

What you will do

  • Build relationships with community leaders, advocates, elected officials, local partners, and families through meetings, school visits, and community events.
  • Coordinate prospective-family, educator, and donor school tours while maintaining partner databases and data integrity.
  • Support parent advocacy programming, train parent leaders, and coordinate non-partisan voter registration and get-out-the-vote campaigns.
  • Prepare and support Board of Trustees meetings, including presentations, communications, meeting packets, logistics, notes, and resolution approvals.
  • Manage regional Instagram and Facebook accounts, edit videos, write captions, schedule posts, update website pages, and coordinate newsletters.
  • Provide event, meeting, purchasing, invoice-processing, and routine budget support.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in community outreach, external affairs, regional operations, project coordination, or communications.
  • Associate degree or technical education; a bachelor’s degree in public relations, external affairs, communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, plus the ability to maintain administrative systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Applications, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends for community meetings and events.
  • Ability to travel independently to schools and community events across the Camden region and work in person at the Camden office at least three days per week.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the Camden and New Jersey public education, charter school, and local community landscape.
  • Professional fluency in Spanish.
