Senior Applied AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; must live and work in the U.S. and be eligible for employment by any U.S. employer.

Annual base salary: $160,000–$195,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable AI services and infrastructure for production SaaS features.
• Build frameworks and internal tooling that enable engineering teams to develop AI capabilities.
• Develop systems for LLM output evaluation, model tuning, optimization, and quality improvement.
• Deploy and operate reliable AI services in production while optimizing latency and cost efficiency.
• Partner with the CTO on AI architecture, model usage, system design, and emerging AI capabilities.
• Provide technical guidance and establish engineering patterns for AI-powered feature development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including strong backend or systems development.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Experience designing backend services or distributed systems.
• Production experience integrating LLM APIs, generative AI services, or AI-enabled capabilities.
• Experience evaluating or improving AI model performance in production environments.
• Strong systems design, problem-solving, collaboration, technical ownership, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• FastAPI or similar framework experience.
• Experience with model fine-tuning, RAG, prompt evaluation, or LLM evaluation methods.
• Experience building internal AI tooling, infrastructure, vector databases, or AI data pipelines.
• Fintech or B2B SaaS experience.
