Software Engineer 2 (AI)

Location: Vancouver, Canada; hybrid with a minimum of 3 days onsite per week

What you will do

• Architect, design, and develop horizontally scalable, containerized, fault-tolerant services on Kubernetes.
• Improve system performance for low-latency and high-throughput use cases, including optimization of low-level systems.
• Build scalable observability architectures for collecting, analyzing, and reporting platform metrics.
• Contribute to cloud-native open-source projects and participate in technology selection and process definition.
• Contribute across the product lifecycle, including design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Collaborate with product management and backend development teams, review code and design documents, and provide technical feedback.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience developing maintainable, modular, resilient software in a product development company.
• Strong programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and experience with Go and Python.
• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of datacenter design, distributed computing and storage, virtualization, operating-system internals, networking, and performance monitoring.
• Experience designing and tuning high-performance system software and working with on-premises, cloud, and hybrid deployment architectures.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with GPU and other hardware accelerators.
• Experience with large codebases, open-source contributions, or multi-tenant services on virtualized infrastructure.
