Sr IT/IS GRC Consultant – Information Security Policy Mgt. (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid role based in Chicago, Illinois or Richardson, Texas; relocation will not be offered. Visa sponsorship is not available, including for candidates currently on OPT.

Base pay: $112,200–$202,600 annually, depending on skills, education, knowledge, experience, and location. The role also participates in an annual incentive bonus plan.

What you will do

• Serve as a thought leader in information technology and information security governance, risk, and compliance.
• Plan, design, enforce, and audit policies, standards, and procedures protecting enterprise systems, files, and data.
• Analyze and manage policy exceptions, audits, assessments, risks, and remediation plans.
• Provide risk assessments, briefings, and reports to management and contribute IT risk information to enterprise risk management.
• Evaluate security products, services, and processes to reduce risk and maintain compliance.
• Lead projects and functional teams, deliver security awareness education, and mentor junior GRC team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of IT/IS experience across systems analysis, application development, database design, and administration.
• Knowledge of IT/IS concepts and the ability to express technology issues as risks and develop strategic responses.
• Understanding of IT/IS laws and regulations, including HIPAA, and governance and compliance frameworks such as NIST, COBIT, ITIL, and HITRUST.
• Experience with audit and compliance controls, technical controls implementation, and responding to audit and assessment findings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate across business and IT functions, and lead complex projects or functional teams.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience with a GRC solution.
