Senior RF Digital Payload Engineer II Pipeline (RF)

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements, and U.S. export-control eligibility applies to candidates seeking to work in U.S. offices.

Base salary: $141,800–$212,600 USD annually. Total compensation, including equity: $174,300–$269,875 USD annually.

What you will do

• Define and maintain requirements specifications and architect digital payload products, including modems, processors, and network routers.
• Design and prototype products through component selection, PCB layout, fabrication, packaging, bring-up, qualification, and production.
• Develop and support test plans, ground support equipment, production automation, interface control documents, and user manuals.
• Review proposals and requirements, assess compliance, and scope development activities for new product capabilities.
• Support PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, customer technical questions, anomaly troubleshooting, and New Product Introduction activities.
• Coordinate with test and manufacturing engineers while tracking product development and production schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or another engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in space electronics.
• Technical expertise in high-speed serial interfaces, including SPI, PCIe, and Ethernet, as well as system-on-chip devices, microcontrollers, and digital signal processing.
• Experience developing and delivering digital products, including requirements assessment, engineering-model prototyping, and production of spaceworthy hardware.
• Detailed knowledge of DSP algorithms and communication theory.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility under applicable U.S. space-technology export regulations are required for U.S. office roles.

Nice to have

• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with modems, modem components, space-grade board design, high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits, timing analysis, and physical constraints.
• Experience designing, integrating, and testing communications systems for launch vehicles or satellites.
• Experience leading complex engineering programs, incident investigations, and reusable, maintainable, scalable code design.
• Project management experience and strong communication skills.
