Legal Counsel (Fintech)

What you will do

• Advise on regulatory frameworks governing the design and implementation of financial products and services.
• Lead legal reviews of product design, marketing, and customer onboarding processes.
• Support digital assets, payments, data privacy, regulatory guidance, and engagement with government agencies and self-regulatory organizations.
• Draft agreements, disclosures, policies, and procedures, and conduct legal research on novel questions.
• Manage litigation, arbitration, claims, discovery, outside counsel coordination, and dispute-resolution strategies.
• Partner with Product, Brokerage, Crypto, Compliance, AML, Sales, and Success teams.

Requirements

• J.D. degree or foreign equivalent and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 5–7+ years of legal experience, including at least 3 years focused on U.S. broker-dealer regulation.
• Experience with the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, FINRA rules, and federal and state securities laws.
• Familiarity with U.S. cryptoasset regulatory regimes, including SEC, CFTC, NYDFS, FinCEN, and AML requirements.
• Experience advising fintechs or financial institutions, preferably in a startup or growth-stage environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, judgment, independence, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
