TL;DR
Optical Manager, Certified (ABO) – Sam’s Club (Optical Retail): Managing Vision Center sales, eyewear services, compliance, inventory, and Associate development with an accent on customer care, optical operations, and legal requirements. Focus on supervising Associates, maintaining prescriptions and equipment, improving performance, and delivering quality eyewear services.

Location: Saint Louis, MO, United States; onsite at the Sam’s Club Vision Center.

Hourly wage: $30.00–$42.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.

Walmart and Sam’s Club operate retail facilities and provide optical services through Vision Centers.

What you will do

  • Drive Vision Center sales through merchandise presentation, competitive pricing, signing, inventory control, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Lead customer and member service operations, resolving complaints and issues within company standards.
  • Oversee community outreach, safety, asset protection, quality assurance, and compliance activities.
  • Hire, train, mentor, supervise, and recognize Vision Center Associates while building an inclusive workplace.
  • Consult with customers and members on eyewear, take measurements, verify prescriptions, maintain confidential records, perform minor frame repairs, and maintain optical equipment.
  • Coordinate operational assignments, stakeholder relationships, performance measurement, action plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Completion of two or more years of college, or qualifying retail, supervisory, general work, and optical experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws, regulations, and rules.
  • Ability to supervise and develop Associates and maintain compliance with company and legal policies.
