Internal Audit Manager (Detroit, MI)

Location: Detroit, Michigan, United States; ability to travel 25% domestically or internationally.

Base compensation: $91,300–$137,550–$183,800 annually.

What you will do

• Lead or participate in risk assessments, including SOX scoping.
• Scope and deliver risk-based internal audit projects, write reports, communicate findings, and track corrective actions.
• Meet with client stakeholders to review risk management, control design, gaps, issues, and recommendations.
• Analyze control deficiencies and root causes, and support remediation planning.
• Identify emerging risks and improve controls through automation, efficiencies, and data analytics.
• Develop service offerings, support business development content, and train staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong automotive manufacturing experience required.
• 10 years of related internal audit and/or consulting experience.
• Relevant certification required, such as CIA, CISA, CFE, CRMA, or CPA.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, the Institute of Internal Auditors’ International Professional Practices Framework, Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO, COBIT, and SEC guidance.
• Strong project management, communication, critical thinking, prioritization, and decision-making skills, with flexibility for client meetings across time zones.
