About the Role
You will build, mature, and lead a scalable compliance program in a fast-paced crypto-native environment. You will evaluate risks and program gaps, write actionable SOPs, manage daily compliance operations, partner with Product and Operations on new initiatives, review transaction monitoring alerts, support complaints and law enforcement requests, lead investigations and SAR filings, and mentor junior compliance professionals.
Requirements
- Experience building or significantly maturing a compliance program from the ground up
- Experience in crypto, fintech, or financial services
- Track record of meeting compliance SLAs with auditable rigor
- Experience managing nested or multi-layer onboarding involving integrator or partner relationships
- Hands-on knowledge of AML, KYC, and KYB frameworks
- Experience with transaction monitoring and alert investigations
- Experience conducting investigations and filing SARs
- Deep familiarity with digital assets and blockchain transactions
- Strong decision-making in ambiguous or high-stakes situations
- Ability to write effective SOPs and translate policy into practice
- Cross-functional collaboration skills with Risk, Product, Operations, and Sales
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and independence
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and scale the compliance program across the business
- Assess compliance risks associated with new geographic areas
- Write clear and auditable Standard Operating Procedures
- Partner with Product and Operations on compliance requirements for new initiatives
- Manage daily compliance activities and regulatory requirements
- Review, investigate, and disposition transaction monitoring alerts
- Align with Risk, Compliance, Product, and Operations on alert logic, thresholds, and escalations
- Support complaints filed with regulatory bodies
- Partner with Sales on compliant customer onboarding
- Support law enforcement inquiries and requests
- Lead suspicious activity investigations and file SARs
- Train, mentor, and develop junior compliance team members
