MLRO/Compliance Officer (Web3)

What you will do

• Own and execute the multi-state U.S. Money Transmitter License strategy, including applications, renewals, amendments, reporting, and regulator engagement.
• Lead NMLS MU1/MU2 filings, state add-ons, deficiency responses, examination readiness, and required individual compliance checks.
• Build and operate the AML/BSA program covering risk assessments, policies, KYC/KYB/CIP, sanctions, transaction monitoring governance, SAR escalation, training, testing, and recordkeeping.
• Maintain audit-ready evidence libraries and operational workflows for investigations and escalations.
• Partner with Legal, Product, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Security, and Engineering to embed compliance into launches and daily operations.
• Oversee KYC, screening, monitoring, and payments-partner vendors, including due diligence and ongoing oversight.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in payments or fintech compliance.
• Hands-on experience with multi-state U.S. Money Transmitter License requirements.
• Strong ownership and operational execution experience in AML/BSA programs.
• Ability to lead cross-functional programs and produce regulator-ready documentation.
• Strong judgment, writing skills, and execution discipline.
• Experience with crypto or complex fund flows, institutional partners, and surety bond management.

Nice to have

• Experience with a multijurisdictional company, particularly in the EU.
• Prior experience serving as or closely partnering with a BSA/AML Officer.
• Management experience.
