Summer 2027 Legal Internship

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States; office-based. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Huntington does not sponsor immigration benefits or work authorization.

What you will do

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda.
• Review and interpret legal documents while supporting attorneys and paralegals.
• Observe court arguments, depositions, mediations, and client meetings.
• Collaborate with a manager and support legal department initiatives.
• Develop recommendations to improve department activities and contribute independently and as part of a team.
• Participate in the internship program’s development sessions, innovation project, volunteer activities, and internal events.

Requirements

• Be a high school graduate.
• Be enrolled in a JD program at an accredited law school, preferably entering the 3L year.
• Demonstrate teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities or experience in a law firm, clerking, or legal research.
• Have excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to have

• Relevant coursework or a JD combined with an undergraduate degree in finance or business.
• Strong interest in financial services.
• Sound judgment and the ability to apply logical and critical thinking when developing solutions.
• Ability to maintain professional composure and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
