Software Engineer II (Java)

Location: Novi Sad, South Bačka, Serbia; based out of the Novi Sad office

What you will do

• Develop core product features for a data pipeline service.
• Build connectors that integrate source systems with data warehouses.
• Implement feature enhancements, bug fixes, and well-structured Java code.
• Design software solutions that satisfy project requirements.
• Use GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Codex to accelerate development, testing, investigations, and incident resolution.
• Participate in team on-call duties and contribute to code reviews, architecture, and mentoring junior colleagues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience developing Java applications in production.
• Experience with reliable distributed systems and high-volume data management platforms operating under strict SLAs.
• Expertise with cloud platforms, cloud APIs, REST API, GraphQL, and databases.
• Strong coding, technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools and coding agents in software development workflows.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with conversational AI systems such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools for documentation, investigation, and design workflows.
