Engineering Specialist III, Equipment Test (Manufacturing)

Location: Woodlands, Singapore, W1. Onsite manufacturing role with rotating shifts when required; no travel.

What you will do

• Perform routine equipment checks, setup, startup, and shutdown according to standard operating procedures.
• Conduct first-level troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, automation, and process issues.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, calibration, and equipment health checks.
• Escalate issues to engineers with clear documentation of symptoms, findings, and corrective actions attempted.
• Support engineering trials, qualification builds, and process or equipment change implementations.
• Maintain equipment records and support operator training, safety compliance, yield improvement, and scrap reduction.

Requirements

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of industrial automation systems, robotics, pneumatics, or electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience in manufacturing operations, equipment support, or technical maintenance.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude, proactive issue identification, disciplined execution, and clear communication with engineers.
• Ability to work in a high-volume manufacturing environment and follow safety procedures, including LOTO, chemical handling, PPE usage, and housekeeping.

Nice to have

• Exposure to SPC systems, MES interfaces, or digital manufacturing tools.
• Experience in HDD, semiconductor, or electronics assembly environments.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, TPM, or continuous improvement activities.
