Senior Software Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Build full-stack functionality across Python backend services and the React-based hirify.global Console.
• Define technical direction, architecture patterns, and engineering standards for complex, ambiguous problems.
• Design and deliver managed open-source services such as DataHub and develop the hirify.global context layer.
• Build AI-first workflows for synthetic metadata generation, data discovery, and reducing hallucinations.
• Review designs and code, mentor engineers, and lead technical initiatives across teams.
• Contribute bug fixes, optimizations, and feature enhancements to upstream open-source projects.

Requirements

• Senior software engineering experience solving complex problems with ambiguous requirements.
• Deep proficiency in Python and the ability to select and adapt techniques for unfamiliar problems.
• Solid experience with React and TypeScript, including independent product and UI decisions.
• Hands-on use of AI tools and automation in the development workflow.
• Comfort working with limited direction in an early-stage startup environment.
• Familiarity with modern data-stack technologies such as PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and Kafka.

Nice to have

• Experience as an early startup hire or active contribution to open-source software.
• Background in agentic context, data catalogs, or ontologies.
• Experience with agentic workflows, Text-to-SQL, or Graph RAG.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading initiatives across multiple teams.
