Director of Engineering, PDLC Agents Platform (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, Washington; availability to work at the hirify.global corporate headquarters at least 4 days per week is required

Salary: $200,500–$332,000 annual

What you will do

• Define the strategy and roadmap for the PDLC Agents Platform and its AI-Native Operating Model.
• Lead development of digital worker agents and the software delivery lifecycle from project initialization through production operation.
• Own ship-time policy gates requiring registration, instrumentation, guardrails, and evaluations.
• Partner with Security, UX, Architecture, Data Science, Product, and runtime control-plane teams on policy-as-code, data classification, approved tools and models, and autonomy tiers.
• Drive adoption of MCP, A2A, and OTEL GenAI tracing as framework-agnostic agent standards.
• Build and mentor the engineering organization while supporting rollout across merchandising, customer experience, and other business domains.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience and at least 5 years in leadership roles.
• Experience leading platform, developer-tools, or agentic/AI engineering teams.
• Production experience with coding agents, multi-agent orchestration, context engineering, and agentic evaluations.
• Experience designing or enforcing policy-as-code controls in regulated or high-stakes environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering teams and collaborate across technical and business functions.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of MCP, A2A, OTEL GenAI, OBO authorization, AI gateways, or observability platforms.
• Experience in retail, e-commerce, or customer-focused industries.
• Experience handling PCI or PII data.
• Advanced degree.
