What you will do
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for dark fiber, wavelengths, carrier services, IP transit, peering, IX connectivity, and outside-plant services.
- Translate network expansion plans and capacity forecasts into sourcing roadmaps, budgets, and capital allocation inputs.
- Lead RFPs, negotiations, contract awards, and commercial relationship management with carriers, ISPs, utilities, and fiber providers.
- Evaluate data center and colocation sites based on connectivity requirements, peering strategy, and long-term network economics.
- Translate technical requirements such as route diversity, latency, fiber specifications, and IXP strategy into sourcing packages.
- Coordinate fiber builds, carrier turn-ups, interconnect deployments, supplier performance reviews, and remediation plans across global markets.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, network procurement, or infrastructure acquisition.
- Hands-on experience with dark fiber IRUs, lit services, IP transit contracts, and public or private peering in large, multi-site environments.
- Commercial and technical understanding of fiber, transport, carrier services, route diversity, capacity pricing, network economics, and infrastructure constraints.
- Strong analytical and commercial modeling skills, including TCO analysis, carrier price benchmarking, and build-versus-buy evaluations.
- Experience with KMZ/GIS tools, route mapping platforms, fiber management systems, network topology, and capacity planning metrics.
- Ability to communicate sourcing recommendations and network acquisition trade-offs clearly to executive stakeholders.
