Cyber Security Associate (Oil and Gas)

What you will do

• Monitor security alerts and events, validate suspicious activity, identify false positives, and escalate confirmed or high-risk threats.
• Support incident triage, investigation, response coordination, evidence gathering, documentation, and remediation tracking.
• Manage cybersecurity service requests related to access, policies, logging, and other security operations needs.
• Support SIEM integrations, log-source onboarding, data-flow validation, monitoring coverage, and identification of visibility gaps.
• Track vulnerability remediation, exceptions, risks, metrics, dashboards, and operational reports for cybersecurity leadership.
• Coordinate security awareness activities, phishing campaigns, user education, and communication of secure practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience is considered.
• 1–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT support, security operations, or related technical roles preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity operations, threat monitoring, incident triage, phishing, malware, identity security, logging, and vulnerability remediation.
• Exposure to security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, SIEM platforms, ticketing systems, reporting tools, or operational dashboards.
• Strong analytical, documentation, prioritization, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Upstream oil and gas experience is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Security+, Network+, SC-900, or another entry-level cybersecurity certification.
