What you will do

• Identify and implement technologies and approaches for validating drug targets and target modalities in metabolic disease discovery.
• Design and conduct in vitro assays for target validation.
• Design and perform in vivo studies using animal models to investigate target validity and mechanisms of action.
• Analyze experimental data and draw scientifically sound conclusions.
• Communicate scientific progress across the Obesity, Metabolism and Muscle Diseases Group and other teams.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining organization, independence, collaboration, and attention to detail.

Requirements

• Ph.D. with at least three years of post-doctoral research experience.
• Broad expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology, in vitro assay development, and in vivo techniques.
• Ability to independently design and perform complex in vivo studies, interpret data, and summarize results.
• Expertise in at least one metabolism research area, such as diabetes, endocrinology, obesity, lipid metabolism, or energy metabolism.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with a strong documented scientific record.

• Strong understanding of human and mouse genetics.
