Software Engineer, Backend (Experimentation)

Location: Onsite at the Petaling Jaya office, Malaysia

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications supporting hirify.global's large-scale experimentation platform.
• Build and optimize high-traffic RESTful APIs and microservices with low latency and high reliability.
• Design schemas, data models, and optimized queries across MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Implement automated unit and integration testing, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, and cloud infrastructure.
• Establish monitoring, logging, and tracing; maintain security standards and resolve production issues.
• Document technical designs, participate in code reviews, collaborate across functions, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 2 years of professional software development experience with Go, Scala, Java, or C++.
• Foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for user-facing features.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, RESTful API design, relational databases, NoSQL, and caching technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud platform: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of secure coding, Agile/Scrum, system design, performance optimization, and technical documentation.
