Full Stack Java Developer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in Southlake, Texas or Austin, Texas

Salary: USD $55.51–$65.12 per hour, plus potential bonus or incentive compensation

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deliver billing and invoicing solutions within an Agile Scrum team.
• Build and enhance Java and Spring Boot services supporting high-volume transactions, system integrations, data aggregation, fee calculations, and reporting.
• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, SRE, and engineering teams to define requirements, design features, and prioritize work.
• Support production systems, triage issues, identify risks, and improve system resilience, security, documentation, and code quality.
• Develop automated unit, acceptance, and integration tests using test-driven development and other quality practices.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and participate in production releases and platform modernization.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience developing large-scale software solutions with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Dataflow, cloud frameworks, and REST APIs.
• 5+ years of experience implementing automated unit, acceptance, and integration tests.
• 5+ years of experience with MongoDB, Aerospike, PostgreSQL, and/or DB2 databases.
• 3+ years of experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or equivalent messaging technologies, plus OAuth and SAML authentication protocols.
• Experience authoring and maintaining integrations with vendor systems and working in an Agile environment.
• Strong solution design, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and delivery skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with CI/CD, GitHub, Bamboo, GitLab, LaunchDarkly, PCF, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience modernizing legacy Mainframe COBOL and DB2 applications to Java and SQL platforms.
• Experience with Spring batch applications, Control-M, AngularJS, Visio, JIRA, and Confluence.
