QA Manager (Networking)

Location: Hybrid; requires onsite collaboration at the San Jose, California office 2–3 times per week.

Base salary: $145,456–$242,425 annually.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the QA & Automation team through technical direction, mentorship, prioritization, and career development.
• Own QA strategy for the networking platform, covering functional, integration, regression, negative, performance, and scale testing.
• Design and automate test coverage for new features and releases across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
• Maintain and extend the Python, Terraform, and Jenkins-based automated test framework and CI infrastructure.
• Build scaling and performance test campaigns, develop Terraform deployment automation for large customer onboardings, and validate platform limits.
• Triage regression failures, drive bugs to resolution, sign off on release quality, coordinate with distributed engineers, and participate in the mandatory on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Strong Python programming experience for test automation and framework development; this is an automation-first role rather than a manual QA role.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and CI systems such as Jenkins or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of public cloud networking constructs, including VPC/VNet, routing, and peering, in at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Networking fundamentals including BGP, IPsec/VPN, routing, and firewall/NAT behavior, sufficient to design network test scenarios and debug failures.
• Systematic debugging and triage skills, including separating product bugs from test or infrastructure issues and writing actionable bug reports.
• Experience designing test plans for complex distributed systems, including negative and scale testing.

Nice to have

• Performance and scale testing experience, including traffic generation and load tooling.
• Experience testing networking or security products.
• Exposure to building or operating test labs or ephemeral cloud test environments.
