Automotive Technician - Redlands

Location: Redlands, California, US; on-site at an SCE facility or field location

Salary: $48.51–$52.34 per hour

What you will do

• Service fleet vehicles by lubricating systems and changing or adding oil.
• Inspect and maintain brake systems, hydraulic assemblies, differentials, transmissions, filters, belts, hoses, wipers, and related components.
• Inspect brake linings and seals, repair and rotate tires, and adjust brakes.
• Perform drivetrain, suspension, and electrical repairs and troubleshooting as applicable.
• Maintain garage-operation records and reports and perform other assigned vehicle-servicing duties.
• Protect company assets and confidential customer, medical, financial, and cybersecurity information.

Requirements

• Valid US driver’s license required.
• At least two years of experience with advanced automotive and equipment servicing and repair.
• General ability to use personal computers and automotive diagnostic equipment.
• Must be able to work on-site on swing shifts: 2:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m. Monday–Thursday and 12:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Friday.
• Must obtain a Master Auto/Light Truck Certification or ASE Master Medium/Heavy Truck Certification within 18 months of hire.
• Must obtain a Class A License with Tanker endorsement within six months of hire.

Nice to have

• At least one year of experience with class 4 or larger vehicles, including inspections, tune-ups, and preventive maintenance.
• ASE Master Medium/Heavy Truck, ASE Master Automotive, OEM Master Technician, or ASE Master Military Tactical Wheeled Vehicle certification.
• Experience repairing drivetrain, brake, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Associate degree in automotive, heavy truck, or diesel studies.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted.
