Entry Level Associate Neurophysiologist (New York City)

What you will do

• Provide intraoperative neuromonitoring during surgical procedures and monitor patients’ nervous systems.
• Review patient medical history and consult surgeons about structures at risk and monitoring modalities.
• Communicate monitoring information to surgeons and surgical staff throughout each case.
• Display, label, measure, and calculate waveform data, including latencies, amplitudes, and conduction times.
• Apply monitoring protocols, troubleshoot data collection issues, and maintain IONM equipment.
• Complete IOM logs, documentation, file uploads, and required equipment maintenance checks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; no previous professional experience is required.
• Eligibility for CNIM certification through an ABRET-approved pathway and ability to obtain and maintain CNIM status.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, including communication in English with surgeons and surgical staff.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage changing schedules and unexpected operating-room events.
• Ability to travel regularly, meet hospital privilege requirements, and satisfy applicable physical and vaccination requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and transportation capable of carrying medical equipment in the country of operation; ability to transport and set up up to 50 lb of equipment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring, human anatomy and physiology, or technical troubleshooting.
• Operating room experience.
• R EEG T or R EP T certification, or graduation from a CAAHEP or NIM IOM program.
