Applied AI Security Engineer

Location: Remote US or Remote Canada; San Francisco, Toronto, Pittsburgh, or Dallas

Salary: $139,000–$258,000 USD per year in the US, or $118,000–$168,000 CAD per year in Canada, plus equity incentives and a discretionary annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is a technology startup building Physical AI for commercial autonomous trucks and robotaxis.

What you will do

• Audit company-wide use of AI tools and MCP integrations across sensitive systems, data, and credentials.
• Design and implement layered guardrails, including system prompts, scoped permissions, and sandboxing patterns.
• Maintain inventories of MCP servers and AI-to-service connections with documented data-access controls.
• Partner with users across the organization to implement secure-by-default AI-assisted workflows.
• Evaluate AI tools, plugins, and integration requests and identify secure implementation approaches.
• Test and red-team guardrails while documenting practical guidance for non-security users.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Professional software development experience with a strong understanding of services, APIs, and permissions.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding or productivity tools such as Claude, Copilot, or Gemini in business-critical workflows.
• Working knowledge of automotive security and safety standards, including UNECE R155 and ISO 26262.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers as a security partner.

Nice to have

• Experience with MCP or similar tool-calling and agent-integration frameworks.
• Exposure to prompt injection, jailbreaking, or other AI/LLM attack techniques.
• Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or other safety-critical systems.
