What you will do

• Craft visual packages and presentations for websites, mobile apps, newsletters, and social media.
• Experiment with different storytelling formats and mediums.
• Create engaging, content-driven illustrations for multiple platforms.
• Work alongside experienced journalists in a fast-moving, deadline-driven newsroom.

Requirements

• Enrollment as a college junior, senior, or graduate student by noon Eastern time on October 9, 2026.
• Strong visual design skills and an interest in using illustration to deepen audience engagement.
• Experience working with photography and video.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Commitment to accuracy, clarity, and journalistic rigor.
• Application materials must include a résumé, an autobiographical essay of no more than 500 words, and a portfolio with five examples of digital design work.
