TL;DR
Data Scientist - Analytics and ML (Python/SQL/Machine Learning): Building analytical models, dashboards, and business cases for OCC Assistant Manager to reconstruct airline disruptions, evaluate solution quality, and quantify operational savings with an accent on complex operational data, event aggregation, and KPI design. Focus on applying machine learning to disruption detection, forecasting, anomaly detection, and risk scoring while validating insights with technical, operational, and customer-facing stakeholders.
Location: Barcelona, Spain. Hybrid arrangement with work from home up to 2 days per week; Flex-Location allows up to 30 days per year from any location worldwide.

What you will do
- Design databases, data models, and processes for analyzing airline operational data.
- Automatically reconstruct disruptions from Ops Control and Crew Control database changes.
- Aggregate aircraft swaps, crew swaps, delays, and operational activities into clear daily operational views.
- Evaluate disruption resolution, OCC Assistant Manager usage, and the quality of proposed solutions.
- Create customer-facing reports, dashboards, KPIs, management reporting, and business cases quantifying savings and operational impact.
- Apply machine learning to disruption detection, pattern detection, forecasting, anomaly detection, and risk scoring, and support onboarding and configuration through exploratory analysis.
Requirements
- Advanced SQL skills and experience analyzing complex operational database changes over time.
- Proficiency in Python for data processing, event aggregation, and analysis using pandas, scikit-learn, or similar tools.
- Ability to define KPIs, value metrics, and business cases connecting operational events to customer savings.
- Experience identifying patterns in operational data and selecting machine learning or simpler analytical approaches appropriately.
- Experience building dashboards and analytical products, validating data from operational and business perspectives, and communicating with technical, operational, and customer-facing stakeholders.
- Curiosity, rigor, and motivation to learn airline OCC workflows, crew-control concepts, and the OCC Assistant Manager data model.
