Site Reliability Engineer (AWS/FedRAMP)

Location: Westminster, CO or Portland, OR; hybrid / in-office. Must be a verifiable US person on US soil, meaning a US citizen or permanent resident in a US state or territory. Travel requirement: 0–10%.

Salary: $91,100.00–$125,200.00 annually.

What you will do

• Configure, optimize, document, and support infrastructure for cloud-hosted software products, primarily in AWS GovCloud.
• Manage servers and applications, monitoring, incidents, changes, and operational support with application development and technical support teams.
• Develop and enhance shared public cloud services across availability, performance, capacity, security, operations, and user experience.
• Manage security posture and adherence to AWS, FedRAMP, and corporate security best practices.
• Create architecture diagrams, service descriptions, deployment documentation, and operations runbooks.
• Provide design and deployment assistance for projects and occasionally perform off-hours work with a global team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of IT operations experience; 5 years is preferred, including networking, computing, and storage.
• Experience with AWS public cloud or Government Cloud.
• Familiarity with Windows system administration and scripting such as Python or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with Linux system administration and Bash scripting.
• Knowledge of application operations, including incident management, change management, CI/CD pipelines, and capacity management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong desire to learn; solid SRE skills are more important than FedRAMP Framework knowledge.

Nice to have

• Experience developing and supporting shared services.
• Configuration management with Ansible or Terraform.
• Development tooling such as Jira, Git, or ArgoCD.
• Container services including ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.
• Operations tools including Splunk, New Relic, GitLab CI, or Jira Service Management.
• SAML integration, Active Directory, LDAP, AWS SDK or AWS CLI, boto3, RDBMS or NoSQL databases, and AWS RDS, DynamoDB, or MongoDB.
• Software development lifecycle and agile process experience.
