TL;DR
Site Reliability Engineer (AWS GovCloud): Building and operating scalable, secure cloud infrastructure for FedRAMP SaaS and PaaS platforms across AWS GovCloud and Azure with an accent on automation, observability, and system resilience. Focus on establishing SLOs, automating incident response, conducting failover testing, and enforcing FedRAMP security practices.

Location: Westminster, Colorado or Lake Oswego, Oregon; 4 days in the office. Travel requirement: minimal to 10%.

Salary: $91,100–$125,200 per year.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS GovCloud and Azure.
  • Develop automated deployment, monitoring, and observability tools for system performance and error budgets.
  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to establish Service Level Objectives and automate incident response.
  • Conduct redundancy, resilience, and failover testing for mission-critical SaaS and PaaS platforms.
  • Manage the security posture and apply FedRAMP practices aligned with cloud platform standards.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure public cloud environments.
  • System administration and scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Perl.
  • Understanding of IT operations, networking, storage, and computing concepts.
  • Application operations troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work from the Westminster, Colorado or Lake Oswego, Oregon office 4 days per week.

Nice to have

  • Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management using Ansible or Terraform.
  • Familiarity with Docker, ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with FedRAMP frameworks, AWS SDK, SAML, or Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS or NoSQL databases and tools such as Grafana, Sumo, PRTG, or Jira Service Management.
