Sentinel System Engineer (Satellite Operations)

What you will do

• Coordinate internal and external technical support for the Payload Lead System and exchange status with ESA teams, operations teams, mission management, and industry partners.
• Support weekly Operations Boards, technical support requests, on-call coordination, satellite configuration control, and decommissioning and disposal activities.
• Monitor satellite and payload performance, investigate anomalies, identify performance trends, and support optimisation activities intended to improve mission quality and lifetime.
• Lead complex investigations and coordinate engineering requests, corrective actions, and follow-up activities with industrial contractors and other stakeholders.
• Prepare, review, and synthesise technical reports, notes, specifications, performance metrics, and other technical documentation.
• Organise six-monthly Satellite In-Orbit Performance Technical Meetings and monitor the technical, commercial, and schedule status of industrial contractor activities.

Requirements

• University degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in satellite operations, spacecraft development, project engineering, equipment or subsystem procurement, or assembly, integration, and testing.
• At least 3 years of experience as a system engineer or in a system coordination function within the satellite engineering domain.
• Understanding of Phase E2 routine satellite operations and the factors affecting short- and long-term satellite and subsystem or payload performance.
• Experience working with multiple external interfaces, multidisciplinary or system-level satellite engineering experience, and strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Eligibility to work in the EU and fluency in written and spoken English are required.

Nice to have

• Previous experience working in a multinational environment.
• Very good knowledge of MS Office tools.
