Production Executive (Natural History)

Salary: £79,500–£90,569 per year, depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.

What you will do

• Lead strategic production management across a portfolio of productions from development through final delivery.
• Oversee production approvals and commissioning processes, aligning editorial ambitions with operational and financial viability.
• Manage budgets, resources, portfolio financial performance, reporting, and production risks.
• Build, develop, and motivate diverse production management teams while driving continuous improvement and organisational change.
• Influence and negotiate with clients, suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders while maintaining compliance, risk, health and safety, and sustainability standards.
• Contribute to departmental operational leadership and strategic projects.

Requirements

• Extensive production management experience across multiple productions, genres, or portfolios.
• Strong project, financial, and operational management skills, including complex budgets, resources, and financial reporting.
• Thorough knowledge of commissioning processes, production systems, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and influence teams and stakeholders in complex environments.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Experience managing co-productions or complex rights and funding models, plus strong client and stakeholder management experience.

Nice to have

• Experience working on natural history productions.
• Experience implementing new production systems or technologies and contributing to policy or operational strategy.
• Knowledge of audience trends, multi-platform content strategies, UK tax credits, SPVs, ECAT, PMI Cost Manager, or complex commissioning agreements.
• Experience delivering sustainability initiatives within production environments.
