Senior Director Business Analytics

Location: Redmond, Washington, United States; hybrid with 3 days per week in-office

Salary: USD $155,800–$277,200 gross per year across the U.S. A separate range of USD $202,400–$303,600 applies to the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.

The role sits within Commercial Engineering & AI and the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence, supporting commercial business decision-making with data and insights.

What you will do

• Lead the BI COE team in delivering trusted, AI-powered business insights through MSXi, Copilot, Cowork, Scout, and related platforms.
• Set the transformation roadmap for MSX Insights and evolve it from a reporting destination into an intelligent decision-support experience.
• Redesign the end-to-end BI delivery model using AI, automation, and modern engineering practices to improve speed, quality, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Own governance and portfolio management, prioritizing initiatives and aligning delivery with commercial business priorities and Microsoft data governance standards.
• Partner with data engineering teams to reimagine data architecture and governance for trusted, reusable insights across dashboards, copilots, agents, and other surfaces.
• Sponsor the Customer Zero partnership and feedback loop with the Fabric product group to advance product innovation.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant field plus 6+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis; or a bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of relevant experience; equivalent experience is also accepted.
• Experience leading data analytics and/or business insights teams.
• Ability to set strategic direction, manage portfolios, and align data and insights with business priorities.
• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and scalable BI delivery.
• Experience with AI-native approaches, automation, or modern engineering practices for business intelligence.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or equivalent data platforms.
