Senior Strategic Finance Analyst

Location: Hybrid, based in the Oakland, California, United States office; two days in the office each week.

Salary: $126,220–$151,470 USD annually.

What you will do

• Partner with Product and Customer Support leadership on budgets, spend decisions, risks, trade-offs, and reallocations.
• Own annual operating plans, headcount and hiring plans, vendor and program spend, quarterly reforecasts, monthly close, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Build portfolio-level product investment views covering product-line spend, returns, roadmap funding, resource allocation, cost of revenue, and unit economics.
• Develop cost-to-serve analytics for support costs by account and segment, including deflection and AI-assisted support economics.
• Build business cases for product investments, roadmap decisions, product retirement or consolidation, and pricing, packaging, and monetization changes.
• Co-own Product Monthly and Quarterly Financial Reviews and improve recurring analysis through better data models, reduced manual work, and AI.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, product finance, investment banking, or consulting, including ownership of a model or forecast relied on by others.
• Experience owning an operating expense budget or partnering with a non-finance organization on its spending.
• Strong modeling skills across driver-based revenue forecasts and operating expense and headcount models.
• Working knowledge of software and subscription economics, including ARR, NRR, ARPA, expansion, and gross margin; usage-based business experience is preferred.
• Comfort working directly with large and complex datasets; SQL proficiency is strongly preferred.
• Ability to turn analysis into clear recommendations and present them to Product, Support, and senior leadership.
• Interest in how software is built and what it costs to run.

Nice to have

• Product or Engineering finance partnership experience at a software, data infrastructure, or developer tools company.
• Hands-on product margin, cost of revenue, or cost-to-serve analysis experience.
• Experience supporting Customer Support, Services, or another cost-to-serve organization.
• Experience with usage-based pricing, packaging, or monetization modeling.
• Experience with Pigment, Looker, Tableau, or Sigma, plus lightweight automation in Python or SQL.
• Experience through rapid scaling or IPO preparation.
