Compliance Operations Manager (Fintech)

What you will do

• Build, lead, and develop the Compliance Operations team across KYC, transaction surveillance, and fraud risk management.
• Own hiring for the function, including role definition, sourcing pipelines, and scalable hiring processes.
• Run quality assurance sampling, improve case decision quality, and keep SOPs aligned with operational practice.
• Coach team leads and senior analysts, build internal leadership capacity, and manage performance reviews and underperformance.
• Define and monitor KPIs covering turnaround times, alert-to-resolution SLAs, QA pass rates, STR/SAR filing timeliness, and backlog ageing.
• Improve customer due diligence and monitoring through threshold tuning, workflow redesign, automation, and structured use of AI tooling.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant regulatory operations experience in a managerial capacity.
• Experience in financial services or payments is preferred.
• Knowledge of Malaysia-related payments regulations is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented capabilities, with experience addressing complex business issues.
• Ability to lead by example, implement initiatives, and work hands-on under tight timelines.
