Consultant – Process Safety Management (PSM)

Location: Remote, Jakarta Raya, Indonesia; willingness to travel within Indonesia and across the region is required.

What you will do

• Contribute to operational risk management and process safety projects across oil and gas, chemicals, fertilizer, and petrochemical industries.
• Support client assessments, workshops, analyses, gap assessments, audits, and improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate process safety management systems, risk management frameworks, operational controls, and major hazard risks.
• Analyse operational data and identify opportunities to improve safety and operational performance.
• Develop client deliverables, reports, and presentations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Work directly with client teams to implement practical and sustainable solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field from a reputable university. A master’s degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of hands-on plant experience in operational risk management, process safety, process safety management, process engineering, operations, or major accident hazard management within the oil and gas, chemicals, fertilizer, or petrochemicals industry.
• Strong operations and maintenance background.
• Experience in upstream, midstream, downstream, LNG, fertilizer, petrochemical, or refinery operations.
• Solid understanding of operational risk assessment methodologies and risk management systems, including HAZOP and HAZID.
• Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks related to process safety and operational risk management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa is essential.
• Willingness to travel within Indonesia and across the region as required.

Nice to have

• Internationally recognised HSE certification, such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or CSP.
• Previous management consulting experience.
• Experience supporting transformation, operational improvement, or safety performance programmes.
• Exposure to client-facing project work and workshop facilitation.
• International project experience.
