Senior Strategy & Risk Consultant (Utilities)

Location: Hybrid, three days per week in either the Columbus, Ohio or Merrillville, Indiana office. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $82,200–$123,200 per year

What you will do

• Conduct industry, competitor, customer, financial, market, and regulatory analyses to support enterprise strategy, risk, and insurance programs.
• Build Excel-based financial, decision-support, and quantitative models, including scenario planning and risk analyses.
• Use risk registers, dashboards, metrics, and mitigation tracking to assess primary and secondary risks.
• Develop recommendations for risk appetite, risk tolerances, capital allocations, and returns on allocated capital.
• Create and deliver data-driven presentations for the Risk Management Committee, Strategy Council, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.
• Lead project tasks and strategy-methodology execution by coordinating resources, deliverables, cross-functional teams, and strategic roadmaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, engineering, actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience, including at least two years in corporate strategy, accounting, financial planning, risk, legal, insurance, or a related field.
• Experience using Excel for data analysis and building financial or decision-support models.
• Experience applying economic, statistical, and econometric concepts or methods.
• Experience leading and coordinating projects, supervising others, resolving complex problems, and working with minimal supervision.
• Advanced written, interpersonal, presentation, critical-thinking, planning, organizational, and time-management skills, including advanced PowerPoint storytelling and visualization.

Nice to have

• Electric or gas utility experience.
• Experience with failure mode analysis, stochastic modeling, cause analysis, fault trees, quantitative analysis, or Monte Carlo simulations.
• Master of Business Administration, operational excellence, or project management experience.
