Senior Data Scientist (Personal Finance)

Location: Oakland, California, or Charlotte, North Carolina, United States

Salary: $162,500–$220,000 base pay annually in Oakland; compensation may also include a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the analytics and measurement roadmap for a Personal Finance vertical and translate business goals into prioritized plans.
• Design, run, and interpret experiments to grow transactions and improve conversion.
• Build ranking, targeting, personalization, and top-of-funnel models and analyses.
• Conduct funnel, conversion, and incrementality analysis to identify opportunities and estimate impact.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, AI Science, data science, and data engineering to embed data-driven decisions into member journeys.
• Develop success metrics and leading indicators, and communicate actionable recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in analytics or data science.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
• Experience applying advanced analytics and machine learning techniques, including Python, ML models, experimentation, or LLMs, to business problems.
• Experience designing and interpreting experiments and measuring incremental impact.
• Ability to build analytical frameworks for ambiguous problems and influence product and business partners without formal authority.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
