Location: Redmond, Washington, United States; 4 days per week in-office. Travel to customer and partner sites is required, including warehouses, labs, and outdoor environments.
Salary: USD $119,800–$234,700 base pay per year across the U.S.; USD $160,200–$261,000 in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.

What you will do
- Plan, coordinate, and execute field test campaigns for robotic systems in customer, partner, indoor, and outdoor environments.
- Develop repeatable test protocols, acceptance criteria, data collection procedures, and reporting templates.
- Deploy and configure robotic platforms, including hardware setup, software provisioning, networking, sensor calibration, and site integration.
- Collect and analyze sensor logs, telemetry, performance metrics, video, and environmental data, producing actionable reports.
- Diagnose issues across mechanical, electrical, software, networking, and AI behavior layers, and collaborate with engineering teams on fixes and validation.
- Improve field deployment procedures, documentation, readiness programs, training materials, and service-support workflows.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field plus 3+ years of technical engineering experience; or bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years; or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Hands-on experience deploying, operating, or testing robotic systems, autonomous vehicles, drones, or complex electromechanical systems in field or operational environments.
- Experience with robotics middleware such as ROS/ROS2, Linux-based systems, cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, robot debugging, and data visualization tools.
- Experience with structured test planning, acceptance testing, or verification and validation for integrated hardware-software systems.
- Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages, strong technical documentation skills, and willingness to travel to varied physical environments.
Nice to have
- Doctorate plus 3+ years, master’s degree plus 6+ years, or bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of technical engineering experience.
